What? Really confused about credit report. help?

melissa asked:

Okay so I’m about 23 years old. I’ve been applying for credit cards here and there for a few years…always getting denied. I recently applied for one again..of course I was denied. Which really is frustrating because I feel like I should have good credit (no debts, have a few loans paid back..and a car, everything was taken care of in time.) Anyway.. I decided to browse over this application a little better to see if it had any Info.. and here is what it said :

the factor(s) where you did not score well compared with other consumers have been determined and these factor(s) were:

CREDIT BUREAU REPORTS APPLICANT IS DECEASED

If checked (is checked) here, information contained in a credit bureau report from a consumer reporting agency was relied on in whole or in part in reaching the decision indicated above.

CREEPY! what is this?? Never reported to ANYONE I was dead.. and i have NO clue who this reporter is…

Don’t credit agency’s need to recieve a DEATH CERTIFICATE to report that I am dead??
LOL rt.. Okay looks like I have some phone calls to make. -dreads- Hopefully it won’t be too much of a headache. SO WEIRD though.. was not expecting to see something like that on there in a million years haha. Dead. Great.

Thanks guys!!

Can I Sue for Home Depot & CITI card for allowing a customer to transfer his Home Depot purchase to my credit?

ubeenowned06 asked:

Home Depot knowly and willfully let a consumer apply $9761.64 back in Oct. 2005. The consumer had it on his credit card for 6 months before having Home Depot apply it to my card. My credit card is on file and we work with Home Depot all the time and they know me (this is a personal credit card not a business). It showed up on my credit card as a misapplied sales in Nov. 2005 so I figured is was my husband building he put on in Oct. 2005. We paid payments any where from 570.00 to over 1000.00 a month till Dec. of 2006. We diputed it called Home Depot and Citi card explaining what happen and no one would help us. In Dec. 2006 I came across some paper work belonging to the consumer we had build a cabin for and saw the receipt attached and the amount of 9761.64 and the ending 4 digit of his credit card. Can I sue the consumer who did this to my card to? I know they said you only have 60 days to dispute a puchase but the consumer who applied this had 6 months and Home Depot allowed him to. Can I sue Home Depot for them putting on my credit card? Can I sue CITI card for ruining my credit score because of something Home Depot allowed a customer to do delibertly.
Home Depot would not tell me where the charges came from untill I came across the paper work from this customers file showing me his purchase and the purchase amount. When I final figure out who’s bill it was I contacted Home Depot and CITI Card and told them the name of the person and neither did anything about it, I quit paying my bill and now they show it as a charge off on my credit report.
There is alot more to this story then I can every go into. I would like to know what right does Home Depot have to do such a transaction? This was not a mistake. Home Depot corp. contacted me stating that they had a letter they had sent to me which I don’t recall seeing and I had asked them to fax it to me, never did.
Just to let you know the gentleman that had this transfer to my account also did this to my Visa card to a few months before this happen – but this one I nab right away.

Why Are More People Seeking Help From Consumer Credit Counselors?

Leroy K. Calstard asked:

The emergence on consumer credit counseling over the past few decades is mainly due to the increasing number of Americans who continue to charge their way into unmanageable debt. This is not to say that there aren’t some families and individuals who have ended up in debt due to no fault of their own – whether it is due to high medical bills, illness, death or a change in family status. But most end up in debt because of charging too much on credit cards and store cards and buying things on credit that they wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford. At some point you just can’t keep up with even the minimum monthly payments, which in turn causes a huge amount of the debt to be just the interest owed.

For many individuals and families who find themselves in over their heads, bankruptcy can seem like the only answer. As a result of this consumer credit counseling organizations have emerged to try to deal with this growing problem by helping people manage their debts and make arrangements to get them out of debt. This is often the last step before bankruptcy.

In fact, recent bankruptcy laws have been introduced that require individuals to obtain consumer credit counseling before filing for bankruptcy in an effort to reduce the high cost of lawyers and court fees. Consumer Credit counseling is usually the best option because it allows to you manage and clear your debt without the negative impact of a bankruptcy on your credit report. Bankruptcies can stay on your credit file for up to 10 years and can seriously hinder your ability to obtain any type of credit or loan, and will bring down your credit score which can make it difficult for you to do anything from renting a house to getting a job that requires a security clearance. It can even affect your ability to open a bank account with an overdraft feature.

However, consumer credit counseling is not provided free of charge and not everyone can afford to obtain these services. Some are so deeply in debt that they can’t even afford help to get out of debt. But if you can go this route, you can get relief. Consumer credit counseling agencies can help you by getting your monthly payments reduced, getting interest rages reduced, getting over-limit charges and late charges waived and can help you consolidate all your payments into one payment to them. This will enable you to eliminate your debt entirely and clear your name, as well as rebuild your credit.

inactive/idled credit cards automatically closed by company?

nyqnzdude asked:

i read an article about credit cards @ aol.com and it seems that soon or after a certain amount of days of an idled/inactive credit card. the company will shut you down (close your account) and that close will hurt your credit score MORE than the consumer closing the account.

CURRENT SCORE = ===749===
amex cc – $0 balance / idled (used it for 3-4months max longtime ago)
macys store – $0 balance / idled
century21 mastercard – $800 balance / 1500 credit limit
chase visa – $500 balance / 1300 credit limit
bloomingdales store – $600 balance / 2000 credit limit
bloomingdales visa – $0 balance / NEVER used. but active i think

i’m scared that if you put you’re card on idle/inactive. that after a certain time they will close it for you and it will impact a lot worse on your credit report rather than the consumer closing it. Is there any suggestions? should i close any cards or let them close it? i’m not sure how long they let you have it inactive for. but from reading it will hurt more if they close it. damnit. i wish i just had 2 cards…..arg……what is highly recommended here….close the newer ones? how should i do it? i have a friend that closed 3 credit cards 10yrs ago and 10yrs later hes credit score went from 650 to 740. but i don’t wan’t that to happen to me. how many points will drop if i close an account ? i make $11 an hour & go to school.

———————————————————————————————
i’m thinking of transfering the $800 from century21 mastercard to the chase visa cause of lower interest rate. i hear that some companies can rise the interest rate cause of this? overall this detailed info, do you suggest it? if so replay separately concerning this transfering
